JCAT Triton Training Levels

Our Programs

 JCAT swimmers are placed into training groups based on swimming ability, stroke development, endurance, and readiness for the demands of each group. Age may be considered, but advancement is based primarily on the swimmer's demonstrated ability and development. 

Gold - Silver - Bronze

Advanced & Gold

Bronze/Beginners

Advanced & Gold

Advanced & Gold is JCAT's advanced competitive training group.

Swimmers entering Gold must have achieved at least two USA Swimming B motivational time standards and demonstrate the maturity and conditioning necessary for advanced training.

Practice Length: Up to 2 hours

Training focuses on:

  • Advanced conditioning
  • Stroke efficiency and refinemen

Advanced & Gold is JCAT's advanced competitive training group.

Swimmers entering Gold must have achieved at least two USA Swimming B motivational time standards and demonstrate the maturity and conditioning necessary for advanced training.

Practice Length: Up to 2 hours

Training focuses on:

  • Advanced conditioning
  • Stroke efficiency and refinement
  • Race strategy and pacing
  • Starts, turns, and underwater development
  • Development across multiple events and strokes
  • Progression toward higher USA Swimming motivational time standards
  • Competitive preparation and individual swimmer development

Achieving two B times demonstrates that a swimmer is ready for the increased conditioning demands of Gold. Continued development within the Gold program is intended to help swimmers improve across additional strokes, events, and time standards.

Silver

Bronze/Beginners

Advanced & Gold

 Silver is designed for swimmers who have developed the basic skills necessary to train in all four competitive strokes and are working toward USA Swimming motivational time standards.

Practice Length: 90 minutes

Training focuses on:

  • Continued development of all four competitive strokes
  • Starts, turns, and underwater skills
  • Increased endurance
  • R

 Silver is designed for swimmers who have developed the basic skills necessary to train in all four competitive strokes and are working toward USA Swimming motivational time standards.

Practice Length: 90 minutes

Training focuses on:

  • Continued development of all four competitive strokes
  • Starts, turns, and underwater skills
  • Increased endurance
  • Race technique and pacing
  • Consistent practice habits
  • Development toward USA Swimming B time standards

Silver swimmers remain in this group until they demonstrate the conditioning, technique, and competitive readiness necessary for Gold.

Bronze/Beginners

 Bronze is designed for beginner and developing swimmers who are building confidence, water skills, stroke fundamentals, and proper swimming technique.

Practice Length: 75 minutes

Training focuses on:

  • Water confidence and safety
  • Body position and kicking
  • Freestyle and backstroke development
  • Introduction and development of breaststroke and butte

 Bronze is designed for beginner and developing swimmers who are building confidence, water skills, stroke fundamentals, and proper swimming technique.

Practice Length: 75 minutes

Training focuses on:

  • Water confidence and safety
  • Body position and kicking
  • Freestyle and backstroke development
  • Introduction and development of breaststroke and butterfly
  • Starts, turns, and finishes
  • Basic endurance and practice habits

Swimmers advance as their technique, endurance, and ability to train independently improve.
